Business Hours & Availability

Setting your business hours tells BusyBook when you’re available for appointments. The calendar uses these hours to shade unavailable times and prevent bookings outside your working schedule.

  1. Go to Settings > Scheduling
  2. For each day of the week, set your open time and close time
  3. Toggle days off by disabling them entirely (e.g., turn off Sunday if you don’t work Sundays)
  4. Click Save

Your calendar will shade the hours outside your business hours in gray, making it easy to see when you’re available at a glance.

If you have team members, each provider can have their own schedule. From the Scheduling settings page, use the Provider Schedule Editor to set individual hours for each team member. This is especially useful when providers work different shifts or part-time schedules.

Control how clients book appointments with two key settings:

Set the minimum amount of advance notice required for a booking. For example, setting this to 24 hours means clients cannot book same-day appointments. Options range from 1 hour to 72 hours.

Set how far in advance clients can book. For example, a 30-day window means clients can only book appointments within the next 30 days. Options range from 7 days to 90 days.

To block off time for personal appointments, breaks, or vacations:

  1. Open the calendar
  2. Select a time slot during your business hours
  3. Create a block using the Bulk Unavailability option in the calendar toolbar
  4. Set the date range and reason

Blocked time appears on the calendar so you and your team know the slot is unavailable.

For one-off schedule changes — like closing early on a holiday or extending hours for a special event — use date overrides. These let you change your availability for a specific date without affecting your regular weekly schedule.

BusyBook can sync with external calendars to show busy times from your personal calendar. This prevents double-bookings across your work and personal schedules. Configure calendar sync from Settings > Scheduling > Calendar Sync.
