Review Requests
Online reviews are one of the most powerful growth tools for a wellness practice. BusyBook automatically asks your clients to leave a review after their session — so you never have to remember to ask.
How Review Requests Work
Section titled “How Review Requests Work”After a client completes a session, BusyBook waits a configurable period (default: 24 hours) and then sends a friendly message asking them to leave a review. The message includes a direct link to your Google or Yelp review page, making it as easy as one tap.
Enabling Review Requests
Section titled “Enabling Review Requests”- Go to Settings > Automated Messaging
- Find Review Request in the message list
- Toggle it on
Review requests are enabled by default.
Adjusting the Timing
Section titled “Adjusting the Timing”You can control how long after a session the review request is sent:
- Go to Settings > Preferences
- Find Review Request Delay under the AI Assistant section
- Set the number of hours to wait after the session (default: 24 hours)
- Click Save
A 24-hour delay works well for most practices — it gives clients time to feel the benefits of their session before being asked for feedback.
Customizing the Message
Section titled “Customizing the Message”- Go to Settings > Automated Messaging
- Click Review Request to expand it
- Edit the template text
- Available variables:
{{client_name}}— the client’s name{{therapist_name}}— your name{{google_review_link}}— direct link to your Google review page{{yelp_review_link}}— direct link to your Yelp review page
- Click Save
Default Message
Section titled “Default Message”Hi {{client_name}}, it was wonderful seeing you! If you enjoyed your session with {{therapist_name}}, we’d love a review — it helps us a lot: {{google_review_link}}
Delivery Channel
Section titled “Delivery Channel”Choose how the review request is delivered:
- SMS + Email — send via both channels
- SMS first, email backup — text first, email if SMS fails
- Email first, SMS backup — email first, text if email fails
SMS tends to have higher open rates, so most practices use SMS first for review requests.
Smart Behavior
Section titled “Smart Behavior”BusyBook’s review request automation is designed to be respectful:
- Requests are only sent after completed appointments (not cancellations or no-shows)
- Clients on your Do Not Contact list are excluded
- The system respects the timing you set — it won’t send a review request at 2 AM
Tips for Getting More Reviews
Section titled “Tips for Getting More Reviews”- Keep the message personal — use the client’s name and your name
- Make it easy — the default template includes a direct review link so clients don’t have to search for your business
- Time it right — 24 hours is the sweet spot for massage and wellness. The client has had time to notice how much better they feel
- Don’t overdo it — one request per visit is enough. BusyBook handles this automatically
